Hanson Brick introduces five new styles
Color Marbling Process and Texturing Gives Bricks Depth and Warmth
June 13, 2006
Hanson Brick, North America’s largest brick manufacturer, introduces a new line of limestone bricks featuring textured faces and marbled earth tone colors designed to give structures an inviting presence.
The bricks’ one-of-a-kind coloring is achieved by marbling a base color (70 percent) with a secondary color (30 percent).
“Subtle variations created when the colors blend and mingle make these bricks unique in their ability to affect the style of a structure,” said Thad Cleckler, commercial vice president of Hanson Brick’s South Central region. “And these bricks offer affordability on top of the same strength and durability as clay brick.”
The textured product line includes Cantera, a brown base color mixed with buff; Sedona, a terra cotta base color mixed with light charcoal; Talavera, a brown base color mixed with light charcoal; Catalina, a terra cotta base color mixed with buff and Valenzia, an olive base color mixed with brown.
The textured bricks are manufactured at Hanson’s Ogden 2 facility near San Antonio, Texas, using limestone mined from its own quarries. Once mined, the limestone is crushed and sifted, eliminating the possibility of pebbles or other inferior materials “roughing up” the texture. These bricks meet ASTM standards for severe weather rating and come with Hanson Brick’s 101-year Century Plus transferable warranty.
The textured product line consists of cored, king size bricks with through-the-body coloring that will not fade.
“Our new textured line of limestone cladding gives the South Central region’s architects and homeowners the rich earth tones they have sought,” Cleckler said. “We believe people will embrace these new colors, making this a product line on which we can build.”
