Hanson hires new northern region marketing manager

CHARLOTTE, N.C., January 9, 2007

Hanson Brick has announced the selection of James Armstrong as its new Northern region marketing manager based in Mississauga, Ontario.

Armstrong’s extensive construction industry experience will serve him well at Hanson, where he will be responsible for marketing all core brick products in Canada. He most recently served as the manager of communications and marketing for LOVAT Inc., an international manufacturer of tunnel boring machines. He has also held key marketing and business development positions with the international construction firms EllisDon Construction and Internorth Construction Co.

“We are excited to have James on board to drive our core product marketing initiatives,” said Kathleen Jonila, director of marketing for Hanson Brick & Tile. “His track record of creating and overseeing successful marketing campaigns is impressive and we know he will be an asset in executing Hanson’s strategically driven marketing plans.”

Armstrong graduated in 1996 from Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario, with a bachelor’s degree in earth sciences and got involved in the marketing field more than 10 years ago while working on the expansion of Killarney Provincial Park in Northern Ontario. He lives with his wife Jennifer and 2-year-old son Nathan in Mississauga.
